WOOD ARCHITECTURE AND PATTERN BOOKS.
NORWAY, 16-23 AUGUST 2008
Based on the ESUA curriculum
and training methodology hypothesis, this test module focused
on the problems and possibilities in real-life situations by
studying ongoing development and building projects in Norway,
using wood as a sustainable building material.
The partners
visited and made interviews at selected projects ranging from
single buildings to urban areas, and explored both new and
traditional wood technologies.
Based on these
experiences, students and partners participated in a
workshop to test participation in a hands-on building process as
a teaching method in future educational programs based on the ESUA curriculum.
The short course included both workshop training and classroom teaching, and included participants from the building industry, practicing architects, urban designers and students from the partners' network. The short course was held in collaboration with the NGO Stiftelsen Byens Fornyelse and the local construction company Rauland Aktivitets Service.
